[edit]

His youngest son is the one nicknamed Bamboo:

"Got a son on the way by the name of Bamboo Got a lil baby girl for a year Jordan"

From Bombs Over Baghdad, this indicates Jordan is older. Also, Bamboo is featured in a skit on Speakerboxxx where he is clearly of toddler age (2-3 years old) which is consistent time-wise with him being "on the way" when BOB was recorded. Also, it's strange that Bamboo would be a nickname given to the child before he was born - I'm pretty sure it's his actual name, as Cross is never mentioned and not cited in the article.

Womanizing

[edit]

I just changed the statement that Big Boi's musical personal enjoys "partying and womanizing" to just "partying." The word "womanizing" would lead someone unfamiliar with his work to think of Snoop or Shaggy. It's just too strong a word for Big Boi's persona. I reckon either statement would violate WP:OR in any case. JonathanPenton 19:46, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Album cover for Speakerboxxx.jpg

[edit]

Image:Album cover for Speakerboxxx.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Removal of unsourced content about height

[edit]

I have removed the recent addition regarding Big Boi's height ("is only 8 inches away from being legally classified as a dwarf") because it violates Wikipedia's policies, specifically the Biographies of Living Persons (WP:BLP) policy.

  • Irrelevant and potentially defamatory: The statement does not add encyclopedic value to the article and could be perceived as offensive or libelous.
  • Unsourced: The content lacks reliable sources, which violates the Verifiability policy (WP:V). Statements about living persons must be supported by high-quality, reliable sources.
  • Violates neutrality: The phrasing is not neutral and conflicts with Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy (WP:NPOV).

Per WP:BLP, "Contentious material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourced must be removed immediately." Jdibach (talk) 03:51, 18 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Either your professionally or better known.

[edit]

Big Boi is a better known stage name. Also, explain what's the obsession with "known professionally as"? Because you think that someone can't be better known by a stage name, but only when your known professionally? That doesn't make any sense. Mr.Shadow514 (talk) 19:43, 26 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I don't follow. The article is about the musical Big Boi, but his birth name is something else so that's why it starts off with his actual name. But he is not "better known as" Big Boi, he is professionally known as Big Boi. Like Sergecross73 pointed out to you a little while ago, you seem to not want understand basic concepts. And I don't understand what you're trying to say here. Perhaps it's a WP:COMPETENCE situation, but this is getting somewhat tiresome since this didn't need a discussion. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 19:58, 26 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So your saying "Your not better known, but only profesionally? Im very confused and What's the difference? Is there a rule about saying do not use "better known by his/her/their stage names" and only use "known professionally as"? There something i wanna know that i don't understand. Your making it appear like it's a bad thing to say that someone is better known by a stage name. Mr.Shadow514 (talk) 20:04, 26 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's simple. "Known better as" is subjective, and its truth may vary depending on the person or context. "Known professionally as" is an objective statement, and leaves no room for subjective misunderstandings. It is objectively true that, when professionally making music, he goes by Big Boi. Objective statements like that are preferred over subjective. Please stop wasting people's time over this sort of stuff, I've already warned you of this before.
